Changes are coming to Morrill Elementary School this summer, as new physical education equipment gets installed with support from a Project Fit America (PFA) grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE).

PFA is a nonprofit organization that promotes innovative fitness education in elementary and middle schools nationwide, with a focus on creating physically educated children and empowering them to take charge of their health.

With the $18,000 PFA grant from BCBSNE, new indoor and outdoor fitness equipment will be installed at Morrill Elementary over the summer. In addition to the equipment, PFA will provide two years of support and on-site training for a new curriculum designed to get kids fit and foster a love of movement.

“Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is committed to championing the health and well-being of our community members,” Jay Warren-Teamer, BCBSNE’s community and strategic engagement leader, said. “We’re honored to support Morrill Elementary School with this Project Fit America grant and hope their students will enjoy using the new equipment when they go back to school this fall.”
