Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) has been named as one of America’s Best-In-State Employers for 2024 by Forbes Magazine for the fourth time in five years.
The annual award, presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., the leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider, is based on an independent survey of over 160,000 employees from U.S. companies with 500 or more employees.
“Being named one of America’s Best-in-State Employers by Forbes is a reflection of the environment we’ve built at Blue Cross,” said Joni Wheeler, executive vice president of strategic talent and enterprise shared services at BCBSNE. “We’re proud to champion the health and well-being of not just our members, but also our employees.”
The ranking is open to companies across all industry sectors, with final scores determined on a state-by-state basis. These scores are based on two types of employee evaluations:
- Personal evaluations: Employees’ willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family
- Public evaluations: Recommendations from friends and family members of employees or members of the public who work in the same industry
Based on the survey results, BCBSNE ranked 11th out of 25 companies recognized across Nebraska.
