Each year, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska encourages the community to come together to walk at lunch for better health. Studies show that walking for just 30 minutes a day can reduce the risk of chronic illnesses, improve muscle tone and reduce stress.

Tens of thousands of walkers participated nationwide in last year’s event and BCBSNE hopes you’ll make this year an even bigger success.

BCBSNE is calling on schools, local businesses and individuals to get involved and walk for 30 minutes on Wednesday, April 25, at lunch or any time that works best for them.

Participation not only promotes good health, but gives back to the community. For every group registration, $20 is donated to the Special Olympics Nebraska and for every individual registration, $1 is donated.

In addition, one participating Nebraska school will be randomly chosen to receive a $1,000 grant for their physical education department.

Are you ready to take the pledge? Register here to participate in the 12th Annual National Walk at Lunch Day.
