Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) introduced a new web page to provide mental health and wellness resources to support members’ well-being. The page includes resources from mental health terminology to emergency response contacts and more.

Improving, educating and helping members with their mental health has been an ongoing project for BCBSNE since 2010. All BCBSNE plans include access to care and resources to support mental and emotional health – at no or little cost. BCBSNE recently expanded its offerings and made them even more accessible to community members.

“Mental health is a growing problem in our state and it’s important to us [at BCBSNE] to help our members however we can,” said Dr. Josette Gordon-Simet, BCBSNE’s chief medical officer. “It’s part of our commitment to a holistic approach to health and wellness.”

Ron Rowe, chief revenue officer at BCBSNE, explained most employer-sponsored plans include office visits for behavioral health services with no copays. BCBSNE’s web page resources expand on in-office care and give members access to:

  • Emergency response resources
  • Provider directories
  • Nurse support
  • Video chats with a therapist
  • Education about the signs and symptoms of mental health problems
  • Mental health terminology

As BCBSNE continues to add to its mental health resources, members will continue to see updated website content, digital health solutions and clinical support.
