Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) has been awarded the Human Resources Association of the Midlands (HRAM) Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Advocacy, Leadership (IDEAL) Award.
The award, given since 2019 by the HRAM Diversity and Inclusion Committee, recognizes companies in Omaha for their diversity and inclusion initiatives, implementation, research and successes at various levels.
“We are incredibly proud to be one of the many metro-area companies that are working hard to create a more diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace,” said Jay Warren-Teamer, director of diversity and inclusion at BCBSNE. “What was most exciting was that we were recognized at the THRIVE level. This work has been underway for many years and winning at that level demonstrates the significant progress we’ve made as a company.”
The THRIVE level is the top award given to companies that have made themselves a leader and resource with their workplace diversity and inclusion policies.
“Winning this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the many employees that contribute to our DEI efforts,” said Warren-Teamer. “Very rarely do we have the chance to pause and reflect on the impact of our work. This award is an opportunity for our team to collectively celebrate and give us a boost of momentum to continue pushing forward.”
The award was presented at the HRAM November Chapter Program. Mutual of Omaha and the University of Nebraska Omaha also received the IDEAL award at the EMERGE and CULTIVATE levels.
