Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) is proud to continue its sponsorship of 12 statewide health agencies under the Combined Health Agencies Drive’s (CHAD) umbrella through the Health of Nebraska sponsorship.
BCBSNE’s Health of Nebraska sponsorship empowers nonprofits across the state to support individuals facing a wide range of health challenges. By partnering with programs that address social determinants of health and various medical conditions, BCBSNE helps expand access to care. Since 1972, CHAD – a local, donor designation-driven organization – has served as the fundraising arm for Nebraska’s premier health agencies, further strengthening these efforts.
“By partnering with CHAD, we’re able to make a meaningful impact and help improve the lives of Nebraskans facing diverse health challenges,” said Jeff Russell, president and CEO of BCBSNE. “We’re broadening what it means to be a health insurance company. We exist not just to cover a doctor’s visit but to champion the health and well-being of our members and the communities we serve.”
BCBSNE’s 2024 sponsorship continues to support the following CHAD member agencies: ALS Association; Arthritis Foundation; Autism Action Partnership; Epilepsy Foundation; Heart Heroes; National Bleeding Disorders Foundation; National Multiple Sclerosis Society; Nebraska Aids Project; Nebraska Health Care Foundation; Nebraska Hospice and Palliative Care; Nebraska Kidney Association; United Cerebral Palsy of Nebraska.
This sponsorship supports each agency’s mission while furthering BCBSNE’s commitment to championing health and well-being across the state. Since its launch in 2020, the Health of Nebraska sponsorship has impacted thousands of lives annually.
“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with BCBSNE,” said Michelle Grossman, president and CEO of CHAD. “Their sponsorship ensures we can fund essential care and resources that our member agencies provide to families and individuals facing chronic health conditions across the state.”
In the past year alone, the Health of Nebraska sponsorship reached over 10,868 Nebraskans. The funding helped create or expand programming for nine agencies; supported signature events for 10 agencies, which raised a combined $2.2 million for local programming, resources and medical research; and awarded funding to four agencies’ respective missions and general expenses.
