The Combined Health Agencies Drive (CHAD), Fremont Moo baseball team and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) hosted CHAD Night on Friday, July 11, celebrating 24 Nebraska health agencies whose focus is on improving the lives of Nebraskans facing medical challenges.

Through its Health of Nebraska sponsorship, BCBSNE supports CHAD and its member agencies. This summer, Fremont Moo players made an impact by selecting a member agency to represent, raising awareness and funds for causes that matter personally to them.

“Thanks to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska’s Health of Nebraska sponsorship, CHAD Night is a celebration of connection, impact and community,” said Shonda Shirley, director of community engagement at CHAD. “The best part is seeing the players on the field between innings sharing their health stories.”

Jay Warren-Teamer, community and strategic engagement leader at BCBSNE, said CHAD Night is an opportunity to celebrate that dedication and highlight the incredible organizations working to improve the health of Nebraskans.

CHAD Night celebrated the Moo players’ commitment to their chosen agency and gave community members a chance to show their support through a variety of events, including a meet and greet with players and dedicated time during the game for players to share more about their agency.

“This is our third season of collaborating with the Fremont Moo,” Shirley said. “The players love turning their achievements on the field into dollars for their favorite CHAD agencies all season long.”

Shirley noted that while the evening’s primary goal was to engage the community and create meaningful connections to health, the event also raised over $10,000 for CHAD and its member agencies.
